About the Course

This course is focused on telling stories & documenting what you see whilst out and about with your camera, regardless of where in the world you may be, it’s all about empowering you to actually get those travel pictures you have always wished for.

Through a series of exercises both you and your fellow course participants will learn many of the skills required to document your future travels.

This course is a mixture of being both classroom based and going out into the field. Photoshoots will be held in Lacock (day one) and Bath (day two). There will also be much time spent reviewing and discussing images as a group. The course has a distinct narrative and leads to a definitive conclusion for each participant, this is done using various tasks and assignments.

In essence travel photography can be tricky and at times it can be extremely difficult to get the results one wishes for, but using the skills picked up from this course both from the presentation and from your fellow attendees, then with luck whatever your next destination is, be it Taunton or Timbuktu your photographic results and your time away will both be hugely enhanced.

To get the most out of the course students should be familiar with their camera and how to alter aperture, shutter speed and ISO. Students will require a DSLR or mirrorless camera with a 50mm prime or similar, any other lenses are welcome but not essential. A blank memory card & reader plus a fully charged battery will be needed.
